  1. I think St. Thomas is a great school for people who really want to enhance their learning. I think St. Thomas really focuses on academics and digital citizenship like how John Rennie focuses on sports. I think St. Thomas should have more places to go to at lunch for the juniors. Also, I think St. Thomas should have a place outside to eat your lunch too. I don’t mean just tables but maybe like a bench or porch swing or something like that.

    3. on hot days I would really appreciate to sit outside with my friends .But their are very few tables outside that are always taken and I'm forced to sit on the ground that is usually wet.

  2. St- Thomas in my opinion is a great school, amazing teachers, people, and dances! Our school has many sports teams, clubs and more… We have a lot of team spirit, which is very important in a school. The dances that our school has are always a success, that’s why we always have so many people from other schools that come like from, Villa Maria, John Rennie, ect. I do have some recommendations for our school, like air conditioning, adding more girls washrooms, and updating the gym.In the summer, since it’s very hot outside, we die of heat in our school. It doesn’t help that we have so many teenagers in our school!

    4. I definitely agree with you the dances are amazing and my friends from other schools love too meet up with me their because they are well organized.

loved your blog and agree it gets extremely hot during the first four weeks of school.

    5. i agree about the air conditioning, I wrote about that too! It can get very hot in the summer, having air conditioning is just generally better for everyone :)

  3. I think St-Thomas is an amazing school. The teacher are super nice, there are many sport teams and clubs. So far I have not met one mean teacher. All the staff in this school are so kind. I have not been to a dance yet but I have heard so many good things about them. One suggestion is air conditiong and heating because in the summer time it gets really hot in the classrooms and in the fall/winter it gets cold.

    3. I also really get along with the teachers and the staff because of how kind they are. Everyone wants air conditioning and I totally agree with you it is like an oven in school. I also think that St-thomas has a ton of clubs and that creates a great school reputation.

      your blog was fantastic Megan.

  4. I've only been to St. Thomas for a month or so, so I can't really say all the great parts and all the bad parts. I'll try my best though. I really i mean reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaally like their caf cookies! They're filled with gooey chocolaty goodness on the inside, and on the outside they're crunchy lusciousness. They have 9 different classes for every student, that could get a little confusing but you can get used to it. In all it has very good education and some really nice teachers too. The bad part is if the teacher is in a bad then they will pretty much put you in detention for the smallest little mistake(unless they're cool). Also the bus may arrive earlier or later sometimes so you always have to get their pretty early(if you take the bus).

  5. In my opinion St.Thomas is an amazing school. I can't say everything that this school does well because it is only my second month, but I can say what has been great so far. I like all of my teachers, I also like the food at the cafeteria! some of my recommendations for improvement would be to let everybody at junior lunch the opportunity to leave for lunch, or at least to get to go further, like on the other side of the school... I hope you guys liked reading my blog!

    2. I totally agree with you my house is literally a 5 second away walk from the school and if I was allowed I could go to my house with my friends to eat lunch.

your blog was very good Jenna

  6. I think St.Tomas is already an amazing school. But there is one thing it can approve apon and its that we only have five minutes to get to each class. I think that the should change it to seven to ten minutes so we're not late more often. And if they do change it to seven to ten minutes we don't have to double book or triple book.

  7. Some of the things that make saint Thomas amazing is the sports and all the clubs.I also think that the school is very organized and all the classes are easy to get to.The thing that I would change about this school is when the school buses leave.I find that I am always rushing to make it on time to get on the school bus at the end of the day.I think that instead of the buses leaving at 2:30 I think they should leave at 2:35.

  9. Some of the things that makes St.Thomas a great school is……

    The teachers
All the clubs and sports you can join
    The cafeteria food
    Those caf. cookies:)
And all the new friends I made

    Recommendations and/or Improvements

I would make the time to get to class at least 8 minutes.
I would have air conditioning and heating in the classrooms.
I would give less homework ( is it me, or do we have lots and lots of homework to do after school each day????)

  10. I am so excited for open house!!! This is the first open house that I will be apart of with the drumline. Some great features about the school are:
St-Thomas has an IB system which many schools don’t have.
The school also has amazing soccer teams, football teams and basketball teams.
St-Thomas surprised me when I saw how many different after school activities.
The only improvement I can think of for now is my locker is pretty small. It is already full and winter hasn’t started yet.

    1. A cafeteria with so many choices, a variety of sports teams and activities, running to different classrooms so as not to be late, such a big school....sure is different than Socrates, right Constantina?

  11. The Open House Is Here Already! Wow Time Goes By Fast! Some Of The Things I Think Why St.Thomas Is A GREAT School? A Lot But i won't mention all of them.
    - Nice/Good Teachers
    - Teams/Clubs
    - Fun School Wide Events
    - And MORE!

Also There Is Some I,improvements they can make.

    - Locker Size For Certain Lockers
    - Time To Get To Class (5 to 6-7 Minutes)
    - Clubs, By That I Mean They All Usually start Later in the Year instead of the first 2-3 months.

  12. St.Thomas is an amazing school and there are a lot of positive things about it. The teachers are very kind and helpful, I have not met one mean teacher at this school. Meeting new friends that enjoy spending time with.
    Improvements for the school:
    - Make all the lockers the same size
    - Air conditioning for the summer
    - More time to get to class (7 minutes)

  13. I think Saint-Thomas is an amazing schools, with a lot of great things. Some things I like about Saint-Thomas is that everyone at the school is just very nice and approachable. I also like that the plan of the school is very simple, so it’s easy to get around, and it’s less hard to get lost. There’s not many things that I would want to change about the school, but one thing that would be nice is if there was more time between classes, instead of just 5 minutes, because sometimes that isn't quite enough lol. :)

    1. going into hight school I also though it would be less approachable and that the school plan would be harder to figure out.

      your blog was awesome 👏

  14. I think Saint Thomas is a great school because it has not only the IB program, but a huge variety of clubs. The cafeteria has very yummy food (especially the caf cookies!), and the prices are very reasonable. Some of the things that need improvement would be to have more water fountains for filling our water bottles, and more time between classes, like maybe 7 minutes instead of 5 because when you think of it Félix Leclerc has 15 min between classes which is the length of our recess

  15. One of the many things that makes St. Thomas a great school are most of it’s teachers. Most of the teachers here know that their job is to prepare each and every one of their students with a futur suitable for them and that the reason they chose this as their job was to help children learn properly instead of trying to convince them that by yelling at them they should learn the consequences of making a mistake at the place where they’re supposed to make mistakes to learn. They are here and they know they are here to help. My one improvement would be air conditioning in the summer, although i understand that it’s very expensive.

  16. There are many amazing things at Saint Thomas, but here are the best two. First of all the teachers are so nice here, ( Especially Mr. Katz ) every teacher is fine with reexplaining to you and helping you out with homework. Along with the nice teachers there is something we can't represent at school, how nice all the kids are. All kids in the young grades all the way to the older grades. All kids are willing to help and including the older kids because if you lose your way and ask them they will always help you.

  17. I think that St.-Thomas is a great school where children love to learn. We like to improve and challenge ourselves to the best of our ability. The teachers are very nice and will stop and reexplain if you don't understand something. The children are all nice too. If your having trouble in the halls, at the library or in class; someone will always be there to help.

  19. St-Thomas is a great school that has a lot of fun activities to participate in. The curriculum nights at St-Thomas are very fun and interesting. I really enjoyed showcasing what we do in English class. I loved showing other, how to use Sound trap. St-Thomas is an amazing school with amazing teachers and very helpful and nice staff. I like it when Mrs.Valois brings Cricket to school. I enjoy the food here (ESPECIALLY THE COOKIES). I'm looking forward to the rest of my time at St-Thomas.

  20. Some things that make St-Thomas a great school is the fact that we can use our phones at lunchtime and we have a cafeteria so we can choose the food we want to eat(because I love food and my life depends on it). My recommendation is That school should start later so we don't wake up looking like a 14-week old pie.

  21. Although I am only approximately 2 months into the new school year, I am already extremely happy with my decision to come to St. Thomas. Everybody has been very friendly and welcoming but it has still been an adjustment coming from a small elementary school, which is not part of the Lester B Pearson School Board. While I am enjoying all the technology and programs being used at St Thomas, it has definitely been a learning curve because at my elementary school we were lucky to even have a smart board in our classroom. My recommendation would be to have a small workshop for all new students, as well as their parents, to show them how all these different programs work, to give them their emails and set them up on fusion, managebac, google docs and classroom, music notes, math help services, remind, FlipGrid, Soundtrap, etc. It has been especially nice not to have to wear a uniform every day, to be able to try out and join the soccer team, have a cafeteria where I can choose different things to eat (especially those yummy cookies, lol!) and even be able to play ping pong during lunch. I look forward to my upcoming years at St. Thomas! #havingfun
