Welcome - Wednesday, August 30, 2017

Welcome everyone to our class blog!

  • Here you will be able to post your blog entries and make comments on your peers' blogs.
  • The purpose of blogging is to give you the opportunity to share and express your thoughts and ideas without the worry of making spelling and grammar mistakes. Therefore, you will not be graded on your spelling and grammar but rather on the ideas and thoughts you present and how well they answer the day’s blog questions.
  • Follow the rubric (see classroom notes).  Blogs will be evaluated in Competency 3 (producing texts/writing) and are a significant part of the Learner Profile.
Some important rules to consider when posting your entries:
  1. Make sure you are signed-in with your Google account (@lbpearson.ca)
  2. Avoid long confusing sentences. Be clear with your ideas. Use short sentences.
  3. You need to reply to your peers’ blog entries but remember to be respectful, polite, and considerate; any form of disrespect, bullying, threatening and/or taunting will be taken extremely seriously and addressed with administration.
  4. Blogging is a great way to get your message out to the class/teacher.  Don't lose the privilege of being a successful student blogger.
  5. Have fun! Don’t be shy to disagree or challenge ideas!

  5. My favorite childhood book was the hungry caterpillar because when I was young I was in love with caterpillars. I always wanted my mom to read me that book each night. I like it because the caterpillar was always green "my favorite color" and because it always ate something else. I hope you guys know this book. If you don't I suggest getting it for your younger sibling "if you have one"

    2. Like Max I also read this book, I would always read it before bed and I am glad you enjoyed it. I found you made really good connections in your story and I liked reading it as it reminded me of my childhood!

  6. My favorite childhood book is Lord of the rings because every night my dad read it to me instead of a less complicated book. I preferred it over a easy book because I actually learned new words.
I Still Enjoy the series to this day.
But I will say who I would recommend it to.
I Highly Don't Recommend it to a younger sibling because it is very scary and has a lot of battling which is not a good influence on younger children.
But For Other People in this class I Recommend it!

  7. My favourite childhood book that my parents read to me is mainly Dr. Seuss but my parents liked to read our culture (indian) books, so books about our history and all the stuff that went on so long ago. They read the history books when me and my sisterwhen we were a bit older. When we were younger younger like 5-6 they read Dr.Seuss I always liked it too I loved how it rhymed and all the weird looking characters. They are also pretty short so I recommend them for a younger sibling they will also help with learning to read since they are so easy and short!

  8. Growing up my favourite books were spiderman books but for some reason it had to have the character green goblin in it (one of the main villains of spiderman)or I didn't like it.I always liked him more for some weird reason i used to call him green gobli no that's not a mistake.I didn't really care for the hero but green goblin was only in spiderman books at the time so my parent read my brother and I those books.I remember once we were in new york city when we were young and when we would be walking outside our parents would tell us to look at the roofs of buildings and we might find spiderman and green goblin fighting.
